The 2027 theme will explore what shared capability looks like when digital tools and interprofessional practice converge.

We are seeking case studies and/or activities that explore the link between digital tools and emerging models of care to support shared capability.

​

This could include (but is not limited to):

• An educational activity that has been effective in building skills in students and/or learners to use digital tools and emerging models of care to support shared capability in a digital health system

• A case study based on lived experience that provides examples of best practice, showing the link between digital tools and emerging models of care to support shared capability in a digital health system

• Guidance on how to design educational tools and frameworks for exploring digital tools and emerging models of care to support shared capability

• Strategies on how to implement or incorporate educational tools to support shared capability in emerging models of care for digital tools

 

Abstracts should be educational in nature and focused on sharing knowledge, evidence, experiences, or lessons learned. Abstracts are not limited to formal research findings. Submissions that primarily promote, market, or endorse a specific product, tool, platform, organisation, or service will not be considered.

What's included for selected presenters?

Selected presenters will receive:

• Complimentary event registration

• Return domestic travel within Australia

• One night's accommodation

Who is encouraged to submit

We welcome submissions from:

• Educators and health professionals/supervisors from any health profession

• Collaborative teams across health professions

​

All submissions must include element/s of interprofessional education and at least two presenters, each from different professions. Additional authors can be listed in the abstract.

​

You are encouraged to invite a student to share their perspective. Student presenters will receive complimentary registration. They may apply for external funding (e.g. NAPSA for pharmacy students) or the APC student scholarship for travel and accommodation support, which opens in February 2027.

Audience

The IPE Colloquium™ event attracts over 200 health profession education providers, academics, policy makers, students, supervisors and preceptors, and at times health practitioners.

Presentation information

• A maximum of 3 presentations will be selected.

• Presentations are to be no more than 20 minutes.

• Each presentation will be followed by a 5-minute Q&A.

Deadline for submitting an abstract for consideration: 11:59pm (AEDT) Sunday 17 January 2027

Key dates

• Submissions open: Tuesday 6 October 2026

• Submissions close: 11:59pm Sunday 17 January 2027

• Panel decision: late January 2027

• Notify presenters: mid February 2027

• Publish presenters: late February 2027

• Colloquium date: Tuesday 18 May 2027

Submission requirements

For selection, we ask you to submit:

1. An abstract paper detailing the case study and/or activity, its impact, and key learnings.

2. A 1-minute video featuring the presenter/s explaining the abstract.

Video submission – Elevator pitch

• Max 1 minute snapshot

• Include all presenters

• Maximum file size: 1GB

• Quality: 1080p

• Orientation: Landscape/horizontal

We will use this video for promotional purposes and play the video at the event.

Abstract review

The abstract papers and video submissions will be reviewed and selected by the IPE Colloquium™ 2027 Program Committee from late-January 2027.

​

Selection will ensure that all presentations at the IPE Colloquium™ 2027 are education-based, engaging and align with the theme of the year.
