Professor Zubin Austin
Zubin Austin is Professor, inaugural holder of the Murray Koffler Chair in Management, and the Academic Director of the Centre for Practice Excellence at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, and the Institute for Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation - Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Toronto, Canada. His research focuses on the professional and personal development of the health human resources workforce.
He has published over 180 peer reviewed manuscripts and authored four reference texts. He has won awards for his research from national and international organizations.
In recognition of his accomplishments, he was named a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences in 2017. He is also an award winning teacher having received the Province of Ontario's Leadership in Faculty Teaching Award, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Lyman Award, the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy of Canada Excellence in Pharmacy Education Award, and he has been named undergraduate Professor of the Year by students on 20 separate occasions. He is also the only University of Toronto professor ever to have received both the President's Teaching Award for excellence in education and the President's Research Impact Award for the societal significance of his research.
